From time to time we will be offering for sale tested, guaranteed-sharp samples of a number of Canon and other lenses.

In order to remove any uncertainty about their performance, you will find not only a picture of the lens, but also 100% full frame crops from an image shot with the lens, as well as details of the adaptor used on a Canon digital body. The serial numbers you see listed will be the serial number of the lens you buy.

Certain manufacturers (mentioning no names) have a reputation for poor quality control, making buying even a new one something of a lottery. You could go through half a dozen samples looking for a good example, or you could buy one you know in advance is a keeper!

That adaptor, or an alternative specified by the buyer, can also be purchased shipping free with the lens. For each adaptor type, we will make a recommendation based on your available budget for the most reliable and well engineering adaptor for your lens.

Prices will be graded according to condition and performance - providing you with a uniquely convenient and risk-free way to buy superior Olympus, Zeiss and Leica lenses for your EOS camera.

Even if you're not in the market to buy, this page is a helpful resource for comparing typical real world performance; to see, for instance, what degree of improvement you might expect from swapping a typical wide zoom lens for a Zeiss prime.
